Innovation isn't in our name by chance. It's the result of an attitude that questions and develops existing solutions. Optimized cleanroom foams are a good example of this. They combine proven materials with new surface qualities, thereby opening up new possibilities in the cleanroom sector.
Not theoretically, but very practically – from conversations with customers, from everyday applications, from the ambition not only to deliver products, but to constantly improve them.
Cleanroom applications are uncompromising. Materials used in this environment must function seamlessly without causing any disruption. They must not release any substances, cause any interference or distort any processes. At the same time, they should protect, structure and simplify procedures. Our existing cleanroom foams have already proven their reliability in this regard. Nevertheless, it was evident that there was still potential for improvement.
A surface that makes the difference
The crucial step in optimization lies in the surface. Using a specially developed hot-pressing process, we have succeeded in improving the surface structure of our cleanroom foam significantly. By precisely controlling temperature and pressure with the aid of a special tool, the pores in the surface area of the foam are closed in a highly targeted manner. This gives the material a more homogeneous, smoother and significantly finer appearance.
We had one particular priority: the typical springy properties of polyethylene had to be retained. After all, it is precisely this elasticity that is crucial for protection, cushioning and secure fixing of sensitive components. The result combines both. A closed, very fine surface meets a core that remains flexible and resilient.
In daily use, this difference is immediately apparent. Components glide smoothly onto the foam, are held securely, and can be removed without resistance. At the same time, the refined surface noticeably reduces particle shedding and facilitates cleaning. This combination is precisely what makes the optimized cleanroom foam so valuable.
Polyethylene foam – tried and tested, yet reinterpreted
Polyethylene foam has been an integral part of high-quality packaging solutions for many years. Its structure, light weight, and durability make it versatile. With the new surface finish, we are now elevating this material to a new level without altering its proven properties.
The foam remains dimensionally stable, durable, and resilient. It retains its resilience even with frequent use, making it ideal for reusable products. At the same time, it remains chemically resistant and easy to clean, which makes it particularly attractive for sensitive environments.
For many customers, this balance is crucial: a material that provides reliable protection while remaining unobtrusive in the process and integrating seamlessly into existing workflows.
Perfect for reusable packaging in cleanrooms
A key application for our optimized cleanroom foams is in shuttle packaging. In many production processes, components change location multiple times. They are processed, inspected, assembled, and temporarily stored. The individual transport is less important than the total number of movements.
This is precisely where the new cleanroom foam demonstrates its strengths. Its fine surface ensures clean handling, while the springy core securely holds the components in place. Combined with a suitable box, it creates a closed system that not only protects but also structures processes. Components have their designated position, positioning errors are avoided, and the process remains reproducible.
Many of our customers use these solutions over extended periods. The foams retain their shape, show minimal wear, and contribute to reliable and clean internal logistics processes.
More than just packaging: trays, tool inserts and cases
Cleanroom foams have long been used for more than just transporting goods. They are also excellent for mobile applications as protective case inserts Whether for service calls, transportation of samples or in-house coordination, the mix of security, organisation and cleanroom compatibility provides safety on the go.
Some advantages of our optimized cleanroom foams:
can be used directly at the workplace
enable the safe storage of sensitive components
the closed structure is comfortable to handle and easy to clean
as a tool insert for better positioning and gripping of tools
as case inserts for mobile applications, service calls, sample transports or internal coordination
A combination of protection, order, and cleanroom suitability for safety on the go.
Disposable or reusable – two smart options
Not every application requires a reusable solution.Especially with external supply chains or products subject to regulatory requirements, single-use packaging is often the more pragmatic choice. Here, too, our optimized cleanroom foams offer a reliable solution.
Thanks to consistent material quality and a clean surface, single-use packaging can be created that impresses from the very first contact with the product. It provides protection during transport, meets stringent cleanroom requirements, and can be flexibly adapted to varying production volumes. For many customers, this is an ideal complement to existing reusable packaging concepts.
Customised contours, colours and visible brands
However technical cleanroom applications may be, individuality continues to play an important role. At NOVAPOR, cleanroom foams are not produced off-the-shelf. Different contours can be precisely implemented and adapted exactly to component geometries. This ensures that every part sits exactly where it belongs.
Colours are also an option and are used strategically, for example to distinguish between different variants or to identify process steps. Logos or labels can also be incorporated on request. The result is increased recognition, support for internal workflows and packaging solutions that become a visible component of your own quality standards.
Quality that makes processes smoother
The optimisation of our cleanroom foams is not evident in a single detail, but rather in the interplay of many small improvements. Surfaces feel smoother, components are more securely held in place, and processes become clearer. This is precisely what distinguishes good packaging solutions.
Our experience shows that this level of quality rapidly pays for itself. Less reworking, less uncertainty in processing, and an overall more stable workflow are direct effects that customers repeatedly acknowledge.
Novapor is thinking ahead
At NOVAPOR, innovation doesn't begin with new machines or materials. It begins with a simple question: Can it get any better? This very question has guided us in the further development of our cleanroom foams.
Whether as a reusable packaging solution with a matching box, as a storage tray, tool insert, case solution, or disposable packaging – our cleanroom foams adapt to your needs. They are clean, functional, and thoughtfully designed. And they demonstrate that true quality often lies in the details.
That's exactly where NOVAPOR comes in.
