I originally come from a trade background and started out as a carpenter. After my apprenticeship and time in the German Armed Forces, where I gained insights into procurement and processes in the commercial sector, I found my way into prototype construction through temporary work. From there, I gradually worked my way into packaging design and learned about packaging from the ground up. Today, I apply my technical experience in my sales work.
I don't see myself as a typical salesperson, but rather as a partner working alongside the field sales force. In this role, I oversee projects from cost calculation and design to drawing approval and direct coordination with the customer. I believe that trust is built primarily when you truly immerse yourself in a project and offer well-considered proposals. I place great value on teamwork – something I've come to particularly appreciate here at NOVAPOR. At NOVAPOR, we truly work together towards a common goal, rather than against each other.
At NOVAPOR, I've gained a completely new understanding of the diversity of materials. Previously, my work focused heavily on wood, but today I'm much more intensively involved with foams and their diverse properties, strengths, and applications. At the same time, however, the goal isn't necessarily to develop a foam solution. Perhaps corrugated cardboard is more suitable, or perhaps wood, or a combination of different materials.
For me, a good solution begins with understanding what the customer truly needs. And if cost is a factor: Where can we optimize without compromising the necessary product protection? This combination of consulting, design, and sales is exactly what I'm passionate about. I can effectively advocate for a solution if I'm personally convinced of its value and can explain to the customer why it makes sense for their specific application.
Packaging must function technically, be economically viable, and meet actual needs. If something doesn't work, I want to know why – and how it can be improved.
